According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Tottenham are potential candidates to sign Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren.
What’s the word?
The Croatian has struggled for game-time this season at Anfield, registering just 14 appearances across all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Naturally, that has led to speculation he could be set for an exit from Merseyside, and Italian publication La Lazio Siamo Noi claim that along with Lazio, Milan and Arsenal, Spurs could also provide stiff competition for the centre-back’s signature.
Must avoid
It goes without saying that Spurs need to be targeting players who can come in and be an improvement on their team, rather than players who are rotting on the bench at a Premier League rival.
Whilst Lovren a few years ago may have been a worthy signing for the Lilywhites – after all, it was former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino who brought him to English football when he was manager at Southampton – he simply isn’t the case now.
Speaking after luring him to St Mary’s, Pochettino lauded the Croatian and his abilities. He said: “He is quality as a player, has a presence on the field and he’s good at solving difficult situations. I think his qualities will really suit the Premier League.”
But in truth, since making the move to Liverpool, Lovren has been anything but “quality”. The defender was brutally exposed in Manchester United’s win over the Reds a couple of seasons ago, whilst even in January, fans of the Merseyside outfit took to social media to criticise his mistake against Shrewbury.
The £18m-rated ace just isn’t at the reliable standards Spurs desperately need, and it’s a swoop they must avoid at all costs. If he can’t make it into Liverpool’s team, then he shouldn’t be considered good enough for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Meanwhile, this rarely-seen backroom man has to play a key role for Spurs.
