Big-money transfer in 2023Headed to Germany by himselfYoung family back his sideWHAT HAPPENED?
The England captain opted to leave his north London comfort zone at Tottenham when completing a €100 million (£85m/$108m) transfer to Germany in the summer of 2023. He initially made that move by himself, with several months spent running up a huge bill in a £10,000-a-night suite at the luxury Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Hotel before being joined by his young family at the start of 2024.

Kane has told of having no support network alongside him in Munich: “It wasn't easy, the first four or five months being in the hotel and being away from the family. That was for sure difficult so I was proud of the way I was still able to perform on the pitch in those circumstances. We've had a good winter break and everyone came back with me, the kids are in school, we have got the house. Month by month it starts to feel more like home, you meet parents at school, my wife is meeting new friends and you just start to meet new people and see new things. Everyone has been fantastic, all the fans here, the club have been great and trying to make me welcome and so far it is nothing but praise for everyone here.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Kane and Kate have since moved into a £30 million ($38m) hilltop mansion and are enjoying taking their kids skiing in the Alps at weekends. The 30-year-old frontman is, however, looking forward to a break in the weather when he can get back to one of his more favoured pastimes. Kane added on dusting off his golf clubs: “The weather, since the snow hit us we have been struggling, I don't think the courses open here until March so I have been hitting the golf simulator a little bit and trying to stay in a decent shape for now. That is one thing I am looking forward to, I am starting to feel at home with the family, the kids are in school so the next step is to start finding the golf courses when I get some alone time with friends.”
WHAT NEXT FOR KANE?
The prolific striker has been impressing his day job with Bayern and already has 28 goals to his name through 27 appearances. Kane moved to the Allianz Arena in order to land elusive silverware and will get a chance to move closer to Bundesliga title glory on Saturday when taking in a crunch clash with current leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
